Sandy Springs Commute Facts: MARTA, GA-400 and Perimeter Center

Sandy Springs is one of the few suburbs where buyers can realistically skip the car for the daily commute. Here's what's here.
Three MARTA Red Line stations. Sandy Springs has three stations inside city limits, plus Dunwoody just across the line:
| Station | Opened | Note |
|---|---|---|
| North Springs | Dec. 16, 2000 | Northern end of the Red Line; 2,325-space parking deck |
| Sandy Springs | Dec. 16, 2000 | In Perimeter Center; 1,170-space parking deck |
| Medical Center | June 8, 1996 | Serves the Pill Hill hospitals |
Park-and-ride built for GA-400. North Springs has a direct exit from southbound GA-400 and a direct entrance to northbound GA-400. Red Line trains run from there through Buckhead and Midtown to downtown and the airport.
A major job center. Perimeter Center is one of metro Atlanta's largest office districts. About 60% of it, including most of the office towers, sits in Sandy Springs. The city is home to headquarters for UPS, Newell Brands, Inspire Brands and Cox Enterprises, plus corporate offices for Mercedes-Benz USA.
Pill Hill. Northside Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta cluster near Medical Center station. Together they make Pill Hill the largest medical center in Georgia, and more than 40% of metro Atlanta's hospital beds are in Sandy Springs.
Take it from Mary: for buyers who work at Perimeter or near a Red Line stop, a home within walking distance of a station can save real money on parking and tolls. Ask me to filter your search by distance to a station.
A note on the numbers: every figure in this post is a good-faith estimate taken from the sources below as of the date it was posted. Figures aren't exact and can change, so please do your own research and confirm anything important with the official source before relying on it.
