East Cobb's Public High Schools by the Numbers

Many buyers ask me about schools, and my answer is always the same: look at the official data, then confirm the attendance zone for the specific address. Here's a starting point.

Six Cobb County School District high schools serve most of East Cobb: Kell, Lassiter, Pope, Sprayberry, Walton and Wheeler. All are part of the Cobb County School District, which posted a record 89.2% four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2025.

How attendance zones work. In Cobb, the address determines the assigned school, not the ZIP code or the subdivision name. Zones can be redrawn when new schools open or enrollment shifts. Before you write an offer, check the address in the district's school locator and confirm with the district directly.

Beyond graduation rates. The Georgia DOE publishes each school's College and Career Ready Performance Index, course offerings and enrollment. Cobb also runs magnet programs, such as Wheeler's Center for Advanced Studies in Science, Math and Technology, which accept students by application.

Take it from Mary: a graduation rate is one data point. Visit the school, look at the programs that matter to your household, and verify the zone for the exact address before you fall in love with a house.

A note on the numbers: every figure in this post is a good-faith estimate taken from the sources below as of the date it was posted. Figures aren't exact and can change, so please do your own research and confirm anything important with the official source before relying on it.
